Inserting other fields

Headers and footers often contain information such as page numbers or date/time. These frequently used options can be quickly entered in Write via the explicitly available buttons described in the previous two sections.

Additional fields can be inserted via the Field button field_insert_icon, which is also available directly on the ribbon tab Header and footer.

To do so, set the cursor in the desired position in the header or footer. Choose the ribbon command Field by clicking directly on the icon itself and select the desired field in the dialog box. Alternatively, click on the small black arrow on the icon for a dropdown menu of presorted entries for fields.
